How the minimum charge works
The first-hour price is the minimum for the appointment. It is not charged again for every hour. Whether the visit takes 20 minutes or the complete first 60 minutes, the minimum remains the same. Additional hourly billing begins only after 60 minutes on site.
What may be charged separately
The service-call minimum covers attendance, professional testing and work that can reasonably be completed during the included time. Additional costs may include:
- Parts and materials
- Parking, tolls or paid site access
- ESA notification and inspection fees
- Specialty access equipment
- Additional electricians or apprentices
- Return visits or special-order components
Standard travel from central Etobicoke
Standard travel is included for appointments in CBK Electric’s regular service area. Your exact address is confirmed when the appointment is booked.
- Etobicoke
- Toronto west of Yonge Street
- York & Weston
- Western North York
- Mississauga east of Mavis Road
- Southern Vaughan & Woodbridge
For locations outside the regular area. Very distant locations are priced individually and confirmed before booking.
Diagnosis may reveal a larger project
The minimum does not guarantee every fault can be permanently repaired within one hour. If substantial rewiring, a new circuit, panel work or special-order equipment is required, we explain the findings and provide pricing before proceeding.
Electrical problems that need proper diagnosis.
A service call begins with the symptoms—not assumptions. CBK Electric reviews the affected circuit or equipment, identifies the likely cause and explains the repair options before additional work proceeds.
Breakers that keep tripping
Overloads, short circuits, damaged equipment and wiring faults require testing before a breaker or circuit is changed.
Partial power or dead circuits
Loss of power to receptacles, lighting or sections of a property can originate at devices, connections, panels or upstream equipment.
Flickering lights and failed devices
Loose connections, worn switches, damaged receptacles, drivers and incompatible controls can produce intermittent problems.
Lighting and control repairs
Interior, exterior, commercial, emergency and exit lighting can be tested, repaired or replaced based on the installation.
Panel and circuit concerns
Damaged breakers, heat, corrosion, poor connections and capacity concerns should be reviewed by a licensed electrical contractor.
Equipment and maintenance calls
Disconnects, feeders, controls, exhaust fans and other electrically supplied equipment can be inspected and serviced within CBK’s scope.

Useful answers before booking.
Availability, pricing and repair time depend on the location, symptoms, equipment and materials required.
Does CBK Electric accept small electrical jobs?
Yes. CBK accepts service calls and smaller repairs when they fit our service area and current schedule. Send the details first so we can determine the appropriate next step.
Do you provide guaranteed 24/7 emergency electrical service?
CBK provides service calls based on availability and does not currently advertise guaranteed 24/7 emergency response. For an active fire or immediate life-safety hazard, contact emergency services.
Can you provide an exact repair price over the telephone?
Some straightforward work can be discussed in advance, but troubleshooting usually requires on-site testing. CBK will explain findings and obtain approval before proceeding with additional work outside the agreed service-call scope.
Do you service both homes and commercial properties?
Yes. CBK handles residential troubleshooting and repairs as well as scheduled commercial maintenance for stores, restaurants, offices and managed properties.
Can you repair the problem during the first visit?
Many repairs can be completed during the initial visit when the problem is accessible and suitable parts are available. More complex faults, special-order components or work requiring shutdown coordination may require a return visit.
Will the work require an ESA notification and inspection?
That depends on the repair or alteration. CBK Electric will determine whether notification and inspection are required for the specific electrical work.
Need an electrician for a service call?
Send the address, symptoms and photographs. CBK Electric will review the request and confirm availability and the next step.
